Packing glassware so that it is not broken in transit is notoriously difficult.  The different shapes, sizes and thicknesses of glassware makes the job a time consuming operation, and inevitably when you are in a hurry.  Whether you are packing to move home, office or whether glassware needs to be shipped from the manufacturer, suitable packaging solutions must be found if your precious items are to arrive in one piece at their destinations.

Cardboard has long been the preferred option for packaging precious items.  It can be folded, shredded, and moulded into various shapes, creating a bespoke cardboard box solution.  Its properties allow cardboard to be bent into almost any shape, and shredded cardboard or paper can be utilised as padding if there are any gaps.

Whether you are moving house or office, there are specialists to advise you on your packaging solutions, and undoubtedly they will advise the utilisation of cardboard boxes or cardboard materials at some stage.  Buying cardboard boxes on line is as easy as shopping for other items, so if you have decided you want to do everything yourself, there is still help at hand to advise about the type of packaging you will need for your precious glassware.   Bespoke boxes for pictures are also available in different sizes and thicknesses depending on how fragile the item is.  You may want to use heavier duty cardboard boxes if your items are to be in storage for any length of time.  If your boxes contain glassware, ensure that they are at the top of the stack, and do not pile boxes full of heavy items on top of them as they may get crushed.  Always ensure that the heavier items are at the bottom, whether you are packing the van for transit or whether the items are to be stored.   The same applies to packing crockery, and there are bespoke cardboxes of different sizes for plates and saucers.
